The Position

We are seeking an Associate Scientist to help drive projects enabling the preclinical PK/PD characterization of pMHC NP towards clinical and combination therapy evaluation. This role will also establish model development to foster our clinical pipeline growth and life cycle management.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead in vivo PK/PD model development or execution including biospecimen collection, processing, and analyses.
  • Serve as study monitor or study lead for IND-enabling studies performed in-house.
  • Write and amend IACUC protocols and internal SOPs as necessary.
  • Liaise with vivarium staff as necessary.
  • Oversee animal vendors, CROs, and diagnostic labs to ensure timely completion of non-GLP in vivo studies.
  • Participate in all aspects of vivarium and lab operation, training, and compliance including external audits where applicable.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:  
  • Bachelors degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience or Masters degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience in Immunology or other relevant life sciences (2 years must be in biotech or industry setting).
  • Familiarity with animal handling, survival blood draws (lateral tail vein, facial/maxilliary/submandibular), terminal blood draws (cardiac puncture), and dosing methods including i.v., s.c., i.p., and p.o. a must.
  • Independently execute immune models in relevant rodent species including but not limited to type 1 diabetes, colitis, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis.
  • Experience running GSP/”GLP-like” studies suitable for regulatory submissions including gross necropsy and tissue preparations for histopathology.
  • Nice to have:
    • Knowledge of surgical techniques including transplantation and portal vein infusion 
    • Experience with common bioanalytical methods such as Ligand binding assays, flow cytometry
    • Experience writing study reports
  • Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work in cross-functional teams, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects is required.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively in a small, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly adjust to shifting project demands and priorities.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $120,000 – $140,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, business needs, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
